of Santa
Rosa Junior College (SRJC) presents a jazz concert featur- ing the Bennett Friedman Quar- tet on Friday, November 13, at 8 p.m. in Newman Auditorium at the Santa Rosa campus. It is located on 1501 Mendocino Avenue. The concert will fea- ture Joe Gilman on piano, Robb Fisher on bass, and drummer Akira Tana. Proceeds from the concert benefi t the SRJC Foun- dation Jazz Studies Fund. General admission is $10, or $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door only. $4 parking permits are required and available on campus lots. The performance will feature the works of The- lonious Monk, Randy Brecker, and Blossom Dearie, as well as a new arrangement of Ger- shwin’s “Strike Up the Band.” For further information, please call 527-4255 or email bfried-

‘DOG’ Hanging Out in front of Final Edition
Sonoma, CA. ~ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Through portraiture and fi lm, Sonoma Valley photog- rapher Jane Baldwin gives voice to the women of the Omo River Valley of Southwestern Ethiopia and Northern Kenya. Life-size photographs and ac- companying stories capture the strength and vulnerability of each woman, each a holder of her ancestral wisdom. In the oral tradition of story telling their dignity is revealed. The exhibit includes: an audio tour of short interviews of the Kara, Hamar, Nyangatom, Dassanech and Kwegu women; a video of Baldwin working
in-situ,
