• Monday, 12th October Dunblane Civic Society meets at 7:30pm in the Braeport Centre. Dr Elspeth King, Director of The Smith Art Gallery and Museum will talk on “The Treasures of the Smith”. A warm welcome to all. Visitors admission is £2.





Thursday 15th October, Dunblane Local History Society. Our October talk will be held at 7.30pm. In the Cathedral Halls. The speaker will be well known local historian and author Dr Bill Inglis. To mark the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Sheriffmuir which took place in November 1715, Bill will describe the background and outcome of this notable local clash between the forces of the Jacobites and the Hanoverian Government. Visitors are very welcome. Admission £1.50 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.


• Wednesday 21st October, Stirling and District Embroiderer’s Guild look forward to another exciting evening and welcoming guests and visitors to their regular monthly meetings. Held at the Smith Museum, Stirling starts at 7.15pm. Please join us.


• Wednesday 21st October, Dunblane Accordion & Fiddle Club at 7-30pm in the Victoria Hall Dunblane. The guests will be “ The Kyle Innes Band “. All players, any instrument, warmly welcome.

• Sunday 25th October, The Dunblane Action Group of the Scottish Bible Society are holding a joint Annual Service at 6.30 pm in St Mary’s Episcopal Church. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.


• Wednesday 28th October, Scottish Women’s Institute meets with a talk on by Jane Harris, Genealogist & Family historian. 7.30pm in the Victoria Hall. Everyone welcome. £3.50 for visitor entry.
