Community Empowerment? Dunblane takes a step along the way!
Empowering communities – where local people agree what is important for their community, deliver local services and work in partnership with public bodies - is a major theme for both national and local government.
Dunblane is well placed to take advantage of the opportunities this represents. To help this, the Trust has obtained funding to employ a Development Offi cer over the next year.
Lesley Campbell will be working with the Trust to: 1. More eff ectively engage with all people living in the town AND 2. Develop closer and more innovative working partnerships with Stirling Council, the Community Council, Discover Dunblane and other local groups.
Lesley has extensive experience supporting community organisations engage with the wider community and develop plans to take forward priority projects.
She developed the Community Futures programme with Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Authority; progressing to CEO of the National Park’s Community Partnership. Since 2009 she has been part of the STAR Development Group which helps communities plan for their future, strengthen their organisation, and develop projects.
