Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair has ably handled this job with his committee for the past 4(?) years. This year the golf tourna- ment raised over $6000 and was held at the beautiful Palencia golf course.
Folks we owe a special thanks to sponsors, committees, session leaders and presenters who all did an especially good job. They set the bar high for next year.
Congratulations to past Presi-
I want to thank everyone who helped make it special. Thanks to our President Rick Vymlatil for his leadership throughout the year. I’m sure Rick would want me to share the thanks with the outstanding efforts of the staff of the South Florida Fair.
A Under the leadership of South
Florida Fairs’ Theresa Agricola and the Sponsorship committee exceeded all previous years along with Lisa Dudding chairman of the Auction committee.
Pasco County’s Jim Ward has
chaired our Tradeshow committee for over a decade and we were sold out with a total of 87 exhibi- tors.
Fran Crone from the South-
west Florida Fair in Naples took over the reins of the Welcoming committee allowing Paul Davis to assume the responsibility of the Hospitality committee. Fran’s committee is charged with the responsibility of manning the doors before our meal functions and guiding people who have special requests. Paul and his group have the responsibility of supplying and staffing the hospi- tality suite. What a great job they both did!
The traditional kick-off for the
Convention is the Giles Ellis Golf tournament. Bill Olson from the

dent and now Hall of Famer Jeanne Keaton. A well deserved honor.
great convention was a
positive way to start our upcoming Fair season!
Our Summer Workshop will be
Held July 31-August 1 in Bran- don. The Hillsborough County Fair will be hosting a BBQ style dinner on Friday night. Our work- shops will be held at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Additional in- formation is included in the News- letter.
Finally, I want you to mark
your calendar for August 27 through September 3 the dates of our annual Fair Trip. There isn’t any better way to get new, fresh, and different ideas for your Fair- grounds. We will be visiting some of the oldest and best Fairs. The Maryland State Fair, New York State Fair and Allentown Fair will be in operation. The South Caroli- na State Fair is currently doing new construction and the State Fair of Virginia grounds is only a few years old. We have some wonderful side trips planned en- route through Amish Country and the New York Finger Lakes Re- gion. Additional information is available in the newsletter and on -line at the federation website.
It wouldn’t be “fair” to leave
you without thanking Lisa Hinton for her never ending efforts on behalf of our Federation.
