THE BEST LIVE MUSIC FOR THE MONTH AHEAD

Hola! I hope you’ve had a great month. I watched the whole of Orange Is The New Black Season 3 within 24 hours, an achievement so monumental that I needn’t bother finishing my book now. Next month’s challenge will be completing an online Tesco shop. The soul warming zeal I experience when I get to use all my clubcard vouchers is enough to ward off that writing spirit; the chapters can wait. I’m all about little victories in THIS. MODERN.WORLD.

What better way to kick off a new month than checking out a brand new night from a new promoter?! HEY? Breaking Sound is at Open on the 1st feat. Black Shuk, Marla, Montagues and Capuletsand No Story Goes. Tis is the freshest new local talent playing a smasher show. Should be super fun.

Where my grrrls at tho? Let’s even things up a bit buds.

Talking of Buds, Collie Buddz is playing with his live band at Epic on the 2nd. Lil bit of hip hop to get you going.

Snakecharmer are at the Waterfront Studioon the 3rd. Tis is “classic twin- guitar based rock as it should be played”. According to whom? I only like classic twin-guitar based rock when it’s performed on water, perhaps atop a barge or canal boat. DON’T speak for me.

Biohazardand support are at @ Te Owl Sanctuaryon the 5th.Rap-metal legends playing in Norwich, and a pretty big deal for Te Owl Sanctuary. Good on ‘em.

Te Jake Morrell Bandwith

support from Geordie Little at Te Bicycle Shopon the 6th.

On the 9th,have a bit of Marty O’Reilly & Old Soul Orchestra, Te Henry Brothersand Andrew Duhonat NAC.Bit of knees up blues there if you’re into it.

I Divide / Silhouettes + Painted Soul /Die A Villain are at Te Waterfront Studio (09.07.15)

On the11thwe have the GRAVY summer party. It’s all a bit tbc at the time of going to print but fuck it; it’ll probably be Hannah Lou Clark, SuperGluand Skinny Girl Diet. WHOA, I know right? Holy shit we’re good at putting shows on. Tat’s at NAC, obvs.

Bizarre Ride II Te Pharcyde is at Epic Studioson the 12th. I don’t really know what that means, first part is album title, second part is band. Tey’re right good tho.

Jolie Hollandis one of Te Founding Members of totally excellent Te Be Good Tanyas and she’s playing at NACon the 13th. I’m psyched for this one.

On the14thPony Up presents Bad For Lazarus,

Pink Lizardsand Saint Agnes @ NAC.Bad For Lazarus have a have a line- up that includes former members of bands including Te Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Unkle and Nine Inch Nails. It’s psych punk rock heaven and I can’t freaking wait.

Curtis Eller's American Circusis at Te Bicycle Shop also on the 14th.“Curtis Eller is one of the most eccentric and individual performers in today's independent music scene.”

I am one of the most unique and individual writers of the last two hundred years. Mic drop.

Te Tilting Sky Present Silenced By Shadowsat Openon the 17th or you can go and see Restorationsat Te Owl Sanctuary.

Legends of Crust / Trash and D- beat, Doomplay @ Te Owl Sanctuaryon the 18th.

Wold Alice and Warpaint. ABSOLUTELY SMASHER.

Once you’ve recovered from either being at Latitude or the jealousy of not being there then why not head down and see some Indian folk music in the form of Raghu Dixit at NACon the 20th.

Te day after you can check out Te Dirty Rotten Imbeciles plus Shrapnel and more at Te Owl Sanctuary, that’s the 21st.

Indie legends Te Wedding Presentplay with Cinerama at Te Waterfronton the 23rd.

Te Sonics + Electric River are at Te Waterfronton the 26th. Whoa, that’s pretty cool.

Laish are at Te Bicycle Shopon the 27th. Tey were part of the “recent revival of acoustic music”. DID IT EVER DIE?
