British Pop Song, you’ll want me to tell you a bit about Newmarket Nights, brought to you by Te Jockey Club Live. It’s like a whole day out at Newmarket Racecourse with some racing in the afternoon (the horses, not you) before seeing some of the biggest stadium- filling names in music playing live…only just over an hour from our fine city.
If
you’re a fan of the Great
I’m sorry to be the one to tell you that you’ve already missed out on seeing Madness and also Kylie who played in June, but fear not; many other mahoosive names will be there before the summer’s out…
Status Quo Tese lads have sold over 118 million records since they started in 1967. Whatever you want!
Boyzone Te reason why we love them is they’re one of the
UK and Ireland’s biggest boy bands. See Ronan in the flesh!
Kaiser Chiefs Ruby Ruby Ruby RUBY! Indie rock at its most singalong.
Sir Tom Jones He just wants your extra time and your… knickers to be thrown at him. I hear he loves it.
Spandau Ballet Te Kemp bros are celebrating their 35th anniversary as a band. Tat’ll be a solid Go show.
McBusted McFly and Busted have merged into one great big boy band, full of larks and tunes and fun. Tis one’s not to be missed, Norwich. I fell in love with Uranus, etc.
So pop on your bestest summer garms, grab your mates, pack a picnic or have dinner there! You can even get the train down there and get the shuttle bus to the racecourse if you all want a bevvy.

SUNSHINE Where
BEERCAT AND
Te Cottage, Silver Rd Ales
Simcoe Great Heck Brewing Company
Beers? On a school night, I hear you say? Hell yes. After a weekend of working oop north, I decided to fall out of the front door and have drinks in my very local local, Te Cottage, on Silver Road. It was a sunny day and I convinced myself I could have beers before 6pm on a Monday if I took my laptop with me. I managed zero work. I did however manage a few pints of delicious ale. Today’s was Simcoe, by Great Heck (what a name for a brewers!) and wouldn't you know it, they hail from Yorkshire. A nice, flavourful IPA that looked like it was made from sunshine, it would have been rude not to have at least three. Realising we'd had no tea yet, I asked the landlady if we had to pre-order one of their platters. "Nope, you ask for it and we bring it!" Five minutes later we were presented with a board laden with meats, cheese, bread and pickles. I was just thinking how awesome Mondays could be if they included sunshine, beer and a deli platter when someone kindly handed me a small, fluffy ginger kitten. Affectionately known as BeerCat, he instantly became my best friend and I renewed my vow to move into Te Cottage.
