WHITENOISE FESTIVAL

VW

31st July – 2nd August Euston Park, Norfolk

Perfect for: petrolheads and dubheads

Te 13th annual VW Whitenoise Festival will be taking over Euston Park about an hour from Norwich. Although the emphasis is still on showing vintage and pimped up VW motors, their ‘festival’ element grows stronger every year, and the atmosphere is one of family fun. With theatrical and circus arts for adults and kids, a free roller rink, art workshops, graffiti, and firebreathing sculptures you’ll not be bored for one second. Tere’s a great foodie village with everything from African to Tai grub, and you could book a bell tent to make the whole thing more comfortable. As well as Friday night’s headliner Norman Jay MBE, infamous for his Good Times sound system, on Saturday night you can catch the hugely popular Gentleman’s Dub Club. Other musicians playing at the weekend include Cambridge’s Ben Smith who’s supported Joan Armatrading and Wilko Johnson, Norwich’s own Tibetan Night Terrors, Te Woodland Creatures, Te Tinking Men, Te Piratones and soul and ska DJ’s. A weekend camping ticket costs less than £50 and if you take your famalam along there’s a nice quiet family camping area.
