1st Annual Jacob’s House Golf Tournament The 1st Annual Jacob’s House


Golf Tournament will be held on Fri- day, May 8, 2015 with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start at The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills. It is a charita- ble fundraiser, which enable’s Jacob’s House to continue serving families from all over the United States, allowing them to be close to the hospital during some of life’s most difficult storms. Jacob’s House is SW Riverside County’s own “home-away-from-home”


serving families whose loved one is seriously ill and in traumatic medical cri- sis in one of our local hospitals. In our first year of operations, we opened our doors to 85 guests, from 18 different states, for 459 guest night stays. There will be a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Mercedes Benz of


Temecula, a closet-to-the-pin contest sponsored by Paradise Chevrolet, along with various raffle items donated by local business and community partners. If you are interested in sponsoring a TEE-SIGN for $100 to adver- tise your business and support this charity event, please call the office below for information. Everyone is invited to participate for a day of golfing, fun, and relaxation.


The cost is $150 per player and includes a BBQ lunch sponsored by the Murrieta Police Office’s Association, a Jacob’s House golf shirt, and goodie bag. There will also be a delicious buffet at the close of the tournament which is available for anyone who would like to join us for dinner. Cost of dinner only is $40.00. APRIL 2015 Four Cities to Receive Merit Award for


Planning of the Murrieta Creek Regional Trail The California Department of Parks and Recreation will honor a four city


team who worked on the Murrieta Creek Regional Trail Plan the Merit Award for Planning at their upcoming Trails and Greenways Conference on April 23, 2015. The plan represents a joint effort between the Cities of Temecula, Mur- rieta, Wildomar, and Lake Elsinore, in partnership with the Santa Margarita Group of the San Gorgonio Chapter of the Sierra Club. Technical assistance on this project was provided by the National Park Service. The Murrieta Creek Regional Trail Plan focuses on the development of a


multi-use trail along the Murrieta Creek corridor that will connect the four cities. The Murrieta Creek Regional Trail is a longterm project to be funded and developed by the Riverside County Flood Control District and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Prior to its completion, an interim trail will be highlighted on Saturday, June 6, 2015 for National Trails Day. All four cities will host spe- cial events, with an opportunity to hike or bike the interim trail, which is ap- proximately 14 miles in length from Old Town Temecula to Lake Elsinore. The award recognizes high quality, multi-jurisdictional trail planning at


the local level, and will be presented at the annual California Trails and Greenways Conference on April 23, 2015 at the Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite National Park. and up who would like to earn free admission in exchange for working the Friday, April 24, Taste of Temecula Valley (TOTV) Preview Concert or Saturday, April 25, Taste of Temecula Valley in Old Town Temecula are needed. The fifth an- nual event will be a fun way to spend a weekend and will provide arts ed- ucation and curriculum support for students in Grades K-12. Volunteers must attend one training session: Wednesday, April 15, 6:30 PM, OR Saturday, April 18, 10 AM. Both trainings will be held at the Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange, 43200 Business Park Drive, Temecula, 92590. The Friday event includes select offerings from food and beverage ven-


dors, live entertainment, and music featuring multi-talented musician/singer Lee Koch, made famous by THE VOICE. The full-day taste event on Saturday has more than 80 food and beverage booths from area restaurants, wineries, and microbreweries, live entertainment, specialty vendors, and a special Kids Zone. Volunteers are needed for all shifts and stations, including restaurant


support (serving food and taking tickets), check in, ticket sales, set up, clean up, and take down. Limited community service opportunities also are avail- able for high school students.
