Old Town Temecula Street Painting Applications Now Available
Painters and muralists are encouraged to enter the 15th Annual Old
Town Temecula Street Painting Festival June 26-28, 2015. Temecula's Street Painting Festival draws thousands of visitors a year and is part of the City of Temecula Arts Festival. Street painters begin their creations on Friday, June 26 at 5 p.m. The
goal is to complete the artwork by 3 p.m. Sunday when judging begins. Over 100 muralists and fine artists create giant pastel murals on Main Street and Mercedes in Old Town Temecula during the event. Families, children, and beginners join in the creative endeavor in the family section where more than 1,800 smaller squares are blocked out for spectators to paint with pas- tels on the asphalt. Street Painting applications are available online at www.temeculacali-
fornia.com or at the City of Temecula, 41000 Main Street. Interested artists may also call Melody at 951-678-1456 to have an application mailed. There
is a limit this year to the number of registered murals. Early registration is recommended. Street Painter Best of Show winners receive a $500 cash prize and are
honored the following year as the featured artist. Additional prizes are awarded for People's Choice, Best Monochromatic, Best Theme and Best Youth with two categories. This year's theme is "My Favorite Time." This can be a time of day, an era, an event, or day in life on earth. Cheep Joe's Art Stuff will be providing prizes.
