PAGE 24 STUDIO 395 Brings the Community and Artists Together By Carol Malin

“Art is the stored honey of the human soul.” – T. Dreiser Art encourages, inspires and motivates, and yet while we admire art we

often feel removed from the experience. That’s about to change. Through a series of programs and events STUDIO 395 is bringing artists

and the community together. The group conducts art classes and promotes public participation in art projects designed to educate and inspire. “STUDIO 395 has done a wonderful job creating artistic experiences that

encourage people to join in,” said Nicole Dailey, Management Analyst, City of Lake Elsinore. “The programs have been so successful that the group has been named Nonprofit of the Year by the Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce.” Word of wide-spread interest in the community art programs reached

the National Endowment of the Arts in Washington DC. NEA Chairman, Jane Chu, came to Lake Elsinore in February to meet STUDIO 395 members and learn about their work. STUDIO 395 efforts support a national movement to develop and improve the economic viability of emerging art communities across the United States. The group has partnered with the city to sustain Lake Elsinore as a contemporary artist community. STUDIO 395 is committed to helping artists and holds open Business

of Art symposiums geared toward strengthening artists’ marketing knowl- edge, establishing support networks, and expanding the public’s under- standing of art. Classes include professional artist lectures to inspire, educate and provide guidance. Symposium dates: April 15 at 5-9pm, April 18 at 1-4pm, May 20 at 5-8pm at the Lake Elsinore Senior Center. Check online calendar for future listings or changes.
