glacier grey. But it was the shades of blue that really stole the shows. Aquamarines, scuba blues, and classic blues all paraded down the runway and established every- one’s favorite color as one of the season’s biggest trends. Read on for a refresher course on how to capture the sky and the sea in your wardrobe… Aquamarine takes the prize for the leading color of Spring 2015. This ethereal
hue has a dreamy feel that is lends itself well to airy, carefree clothing. At BCBG Max Azria, it took the form of silky, calf-length dresses. Try layering a pastel palette to add dimension to your look, such as topping a floral-printed skirt with an aquamarine blouse or by cinching a draping, one-shoulder maxi with a candy-colored belt. Pamela Roland also designed an aquamarine dress—a boat-neck, asymmetrical one perfect for summer soirées—while Rachel Pally mixed the pale hue with a vibrant tangerine on a printed jumpsuit with a plunging neckline (another spring trend, hint hint).

Tia Cibani dip-dyed pin- striped blazers and pencil skirts into classic blue ink, while Trina Turk mixed the deep blue hue with bright reds, oranges, and yellows for retro-inspired tops, ex- otically printed maxis, and a high-waisted, body-con- scious skirt with ombre stripes—all of which demonstrate just how versatile this iconic color can be. If you don’t already have these colors in your closet, you can be sure it’s a safe investment to stock up. Then take a cue from these designers and give the fashion world your best blue steel.

Since surfer fabric Neoprene is cur-
rently having its fashion moment, it comes as no surprise that scuba blue would be a trending color this season. It’s a sporty, playful shade that evokes tropical waters. Barbara Tfank was in- spired by the Mediterranean, so her off- the-shoulder number is not only scuba blue, but shimmering, too. Both Tadashi Shoji and Whit designed scuba blue dresses for spring, proving that both striped, pleated maxis and arty, printed shifts can equally do the color justice. But not every occasion calls for a dress, so think outside the box like new de- signer Lindsey Degen, who featured scuba blue on everything from knitted tanks to crop tops to bathing suits. Last but not least is classic blue,
the truest of blues. It naturally has a nau- tical feel and pops up on striped shirts. While it is a popular color for men this season (remember the sharp blue suit Matthew McConaughey wore to the Emmys?), designers have created new
