“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” - Degas
“One of our first community projects began at Elm Beach two years
ago,” said Grace Sandlin, STUDIO 395 secretary. “Volunteers assisted in in- stalling thousands of mosaic tiles made by local elementary students on bol- lards and cement trash receptacles. The goal is to continue installation all the way along Riverside Drive to the Outlet Mall in the future.” Last year to foster public interest in art, beautification, and to raise funds
for future public art projects, Robin Golden, a well-respected muralist and a founding member of STUDIO 395, painted a large mural of the Elsinore Grand Prix across the facade of the Wreck Bar in Historic Downtown Lake Elsinore. Current STUDIO 395 Projects
include an etched glass installation that will be unveiled in May at the West Valley Mosquito and Vector Control office in Ontario. WVMVC has authorized STUDIO 395 to cre- ate another public art project at the district’s Corona office, incorporat- ing a glass installation, metal sculp- ture and mosaic reflecting pool to be completed this fall by local artists, Jeff Dean, Laura Height, and Robin Golden. A community tile project decorating planters outside EVWD water district offices is in the works, and an art project to install large metal flying cranes in the Collier Av- enue median outside the Outlet Mall has been proposed.
