Two new Toscotec tissue lines for Vinda Group in China
C
hinese producer of household paper and personal care & hygiene products, Vinda Group
has ordered three new tissue lines from Toscotec. The tissue lines will be installed
at Vinda’s two mills at Deyang in Sichuan province, adding 30,000 tons of capacity, and Laiwu in Shandong province, where 60,000 tons will be added.
Toscotec will be supplying its
AHEAD-1.5M ES crescent former tissue machines, designed for the production of high quality tissue products with significant energy savings in the use of gas and steam. Each will have a 3.4m trim width and will run at 1,600 metres per minute. The order continues a
relationship between the two companies: the Laiwu mill already
houses two Toscotec lines that were installed in 2013. The two new lines includes
Toscotec’s Drying Optimization for Energy Saving system, a tailor-made drying package that includes Milltech hood, which delivers higher drying efficiency and output, as well as key energy savings. Toscotec’s short approach flow contributes to such savings, with an overall efficiency increase in the approach system. Complete
Rebuild for Iggesund mill’s soft wood pulp line
Forest products group Holmen is having the soft wood pulp line at its Iggesund mill in Sweden rebuilt by Valmet. The rebuild will improve
production stability, cut variable costs and increase pulp production capacity by 15 percent to 50,000 tonnes, and will be implemented in two stages during 2015 and 2016. The project will include the main machinery, basic engineering and erection. In
the first stage, two pressure diffusers will be rebuilt, one in the cooking plant and one in the brown stock washing, where also a new TwinRoll press, will be installed. In the second stage, the oxygen delignification stage will be extended into a two- stage OxyTrac system, which will make it possible to still reach lower kappa numbers if there is a further production increase. In the bleach plant two new TwinRoll presses will be installed.
Holmen manufactures printing paper, paperboard and sawn timber and runs forestry and energy production operations. Its Iggesund mill is regarded as one of the most advanced, fully integrated pulp and paperboard mills in the world, with capacity for 340,000 tonnes per year. Mill director Olov Winblad von
Walter, explained the reasons for the rebuild: “We have a good experience since we have had Valmet presses in our mill
engineering and erection supervision, commissioning and start up assistance and training services are also part of the project. Founded in 1985, Vinda Group is the third largest hygiene paper manufacturer in China with nine mills that supply the domestic market, Hong Kong and Macau with exports to Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Africa.
for many years. This rebuild will eliminate bottle necks in the process and increase pulp capacity. We will also cut variable costs which will strengthen our competitiveness.” Mikael Gustafsson, sales manager for pulp and energy business at Valmet, added: “This rebuild is the first step towards a press based bleach plant. The high outlet consistency makes the process easier to control and the volume of effluent will be less than for washers with lower discharge consistencies. Also water and chemical consumption will be minimised. We are looking forward to a good co-operation in this project.”
