elcome to the March issue of Pulp, Paper & Logistics. My time is even shorter this month: I still need to pack my bag for travel to Tissue World Barcelona and put the
finishing touches to both this issue and the spring issue of Forest Bioenergy Review. Once all this is done then we have Zellcheming in Frankfurt
to look forward to (30 June to 2 July www.zellcheming-expo. de), but even better is that this also means I can visit my favorite watering hole – O’Reilly’s Frankfurt – which has great beer and food and the staff are really helpful (
oreillys.com/ frankfurt.html). Anyway, back to business: the start of this year was a little
slow but things have really started to pick up for the pulp and paper industry. This issue reflects just some of what is happening and we have some great articles already scheduled right through to the end of the year. Later this year again there is MIAC in Lucca (14 to 16
October,
www.miac.info/) so there are plenty of opportunities to go and see what suppliers to the industry are offering to help improve the productivity of your paper mill’s operations. In PPL’s next issue for May 2015 it will be covering: machine clothing (including rolls, wires, felts, belts, ropes and blades); quality control (machinery, equipment & specialities); shipping, ports, handling, containers, wrapping, and warehousing focus (including cranes).
