TXTA enjoyed rich successes from each D.C. trip, but also members have relished the opportunity to network with fellow col- leagues. The visit culminates in an evening of fellowship and an appraisal of the day’s meetings at the UPS townhouse near the capitol. The Call on Washington program is
the brainchild of one of the hardest work- ing, dedicated servants of the trucking community – American Trucking
Associations’ Elisabeth Barna. Barna rejoined ATA in 2005 and has more than 23 years in the trucking industry. She leads ATA’s image and outreach efforts, includ- ing the America’s Road Team and Share the Road programs, as well as the new indus- try-wide image movement, Trucking Moves America Forward. Texas’ 2014 D.C. visit was Elisabeth’s
final time to host the Call on Washington prior to her promotion to senior vice presi- dent of communications and public affairs. Elisabeth has now handed the reigns
over to ATA’s Chris Spear, vice president and chief of legislative affairs, responsible for advancing ATA’s policy priorities in Congress. Spear, along with ATA Vice President of Federal Relations John Lynch
