TXTA MEMBER UPS SPENDS

QUALITY TIME WITH CONGRESSMEN

Congressmen Brady, Gallego,

Williams, Conaway, Veasey Visit UPS Facilities

UPS is busy. Not only with the hustle

and bustle as one of the largest parcel com- panies in the world, but also as a critical ambassador of trucking to the men and women who create laws. In 2014, UPS facil- ities opened their doors across the state to a number of congressional delegates; among the many names were Texas’ own Congressmen Brady, Gallego, Williams, Conaway and Veasey. Not only were these congressional

tours an opportunity to spread the good word of trucking, but to also share plans for building expansion projects, technolog- ical advancements, and to introduce the hard working men and women who wear the brown uniform every day. UPS representatives discussed a vari-

ety of topics including: UPS Telematics, UPS Store franchises and how they provide entrepreneurial opportunities in the com- munity, UPS veteran employment initia- tives, and the UPS ‘footprint’ in the respec- tive Congressional Districts. The Texas delegation praised UPS

employees for their pursuit of excellence and the valuable service they provided to the community. They also shared their gratitude for the hard work and dedication of UPS, enabling small businesses in each district to grow and provide local jobs and commended the trucking industry on the continued dedication to Texas and its citi- zens.
