Bowling University represents educational programs developed by the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America.

In-depth online training offers bowling centers the ability to train individuals for positions within their businesses 24/7. Just one course in customer service or time management can save or grow your customer base, equating into $1,000’s to the bottom line. The OTMCP allows proprietors, managers and bowling center employees from around the world to come together in a virtual classroom and learn how to operate their centers more profitably. Through a partnership with Anne Arundel Community

College, we have developed college-level classes, addressing the operational responsibilities of bowling or entertainment center managers and employees. These classes are broken down into a variety of topic areas including: Sales and Marketing, Food and Beverage, Facility Maintenance, Finance, Customer Service, Human Resources, Entertainment Income, Supervisory Skills, and Leadership. Online education is quickly becoming the standard in higher education. Today, 1 in every 6 students enrolled in college will participate in online learning. In fact, a 2009 U.S. Department of Education study found that students taking online classes outperformed students receiving face- to-face instruction. This is your opportunity to get involved in an educational program that will change the way the industry operates.

It is the vision of Bowling University to raise the bar regarding how bowling centers are operated and to create new standards, improving the public’s opinion of bowling. With your help, we can create a better educated workforce and improve the profitability of the business of bowling.

Even though I think we are good at what we do and already know how, the Basic Food and Beverage Operations course had me stop and focus to see ways we can be better. In the course, I created a better checklist for cafe and bar crew to maintain cleanliness. The very next month we received an outstanding score on our health inspec- tion!
