Bespoke pedestals for Greek island
A
range of bespoke marina service pedestals from Rolec’s Classic range were recently installed at Chios
Marina, Greece. Chios Island is the fi fth largest of
the Greek islands and is situated in the Aegean Sea just over four miles from the Anatolian coast. The marina’s specifi c requirement for pedestals, which Rolec was able to fulfi l, included: aluminium powder blue outer skins with stainless steel locking brackets, co-ordinated white lids, plates and extrusions, various sized electrical and water outlets, electric and water meters and photocell LED illumination. Rolec’s pedestals now enable the
marina to cater for up to a 125 amp, three-phase supply and berth an extra 50 boats. Kate Fountain, International Marina
Sales Manager for Rolec, commented: “We were delighted to be asked to manufacture and supply our Classic and Classic Maxi service pedestals to the Chios Island marina recently. They are completely customisable and can meet any required specifi cation”.
New berths for Lusail City
Doha’s premier marina, Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City, recently announced that it would expand in response to increasingly high demand for more berths in Qatar and has now added 49 modern fl oating berths, bringing its total off ering to 142 berths. Currently enjoying high occupancy rates, the marina is fast establishing itself as a thriving maritime hub for Doha and the region. The new berths range from
8-10 metres to accommodate a higher number of small-sized boats.
Wayne Shepherd, General Manager of Mourjan Marinas, said: “We are delighted to announce this milestone expansion, which rounds off a fantastic year of achievements at Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City. “The marina has progressed
quickly since construction work fi rst began in October, 2010, from being awarded Boat Owner Middle East’s ‘Most Interesting Marine Development’ in December, 2013, to accruing Clean Marina accreditation in 2014.”
