MDL Consultancy to plan Edinburgh Marina

division of MDL Marinas Group Ltd, the MDL Consultancy team is delighted to have been
appointed by Granton Central Developments Ltd to develop plans for Edinburgh Marina – a new 400-berth marina, residential, retail and spa hotel development that will be the focal point of the area’s regeneration – located just 2.5 miles from Edinburgh City Centre. The work undertaken by
the MDL Consultancy team has included carrying out a market appraisal to consider both existing and future demand across all market sectors and a study of the main competitors, utilising the team’s many years of expertise. MDL Consultancy then set about studying a number of marina design options, leading to one
recommended layout. Alex Beere, Head of Technical

This is one of the first new marinas to be built next to a capital city in many years and we are looking forward to seeing Edinburgh’s new marina unfold and to providing ongoing support”. The MDL Consultancy team
has enjoyed a busy year, working on a diverse range of projects for a variety of clients in the UK and abroad. Their services have included project management, marine licensing, expert advice, market studies, feasibility studies, master planning and marina design work.

America, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East, as well as the UK and Europe.
Discounts at Karpaz Gate Marina
The East Mediterranean’s exciting new sailing destination, Karpaz Gate Marina, has announced significant discounts on berthing rates, technical services and leisure facilities for 2015. The Five Gold Anchor-rated marina on the beautiful Karpaz
Peninsula in Northern Cyprus is offering special deals for all boats up to large superyachts, with up to 60% discounts on seasonal and annual mooring, as well as attractive new packages, which reward long- term clients with free or discounted
boatyard options and other benefits. Granting clients new freedom within the terms of their contract, the marina is also offering a unique ‘Frozen Package’, which allows boat- owners to suspend their mooring contract if they wish to visit another
location or spend time cruising. Added cost benefits are included
in the new packages for owners who need repair or maintenance work carried out on their vessels at the marina’s impressive 18,000 sq m dry dock with 300-ton capacity boat hoist. Guests with a yearly contract will receive a free anti-fouling package and there are also discounts of up to 15% for the lift-out service for clients staying for shorter terms. In addition, there is a 25% discount for all boat owners for use of the slipway. If required, boat owners can also keep their vessel at the dry dock for the price of the mooring rate and lift-out service. The 2015 packages allow everyone
on board to enjoy a 15% discount at Hemingway’s restaurant and bar overlooking the marina, plus free entrance to the Fitness Centre with modern gym facilities, as well as the Beach Club with spectacular infinity pool. Free WiFi is also included.
