PULSE

You have heard all about your children and pupils needing to become more physically active but what about yourself and the rest of the school staff? Now that it is a new year, isn’t it about time you started joining in?

WHAT IS The Workplace Challenge?

The Workplace Challenge is a national programme from the County Sports Partnership Network, funded by Sport England, which aims to engage workplaces in sport and physical activity.

Physical activity has many positive effects on work performance, productivity and absenteeism. Physical Activity is also well known to improve a person’s motivation, energy and stress levels. By taking part in the Workplace Challenge, it shows that your school cares about your employee’s health leading to a valued workforce and reduced staff turnover.

The social aspect of the challenge will also create FUN in the workplace, increasing staff morale and team spirit.

It’s FREE to sign up to The Workplace Challenge

Schools across Kent are invited to take part in the ‘Workplace Challenge’. Every member of staff is welcome to sign up, no matter how active they currently are.

It’s easy to sign up and it’s FREE! You just need to log your activity. This can be anything from a 15 minute walk, a 30 minute run at lunchtime, a bike ride or exercise class in the evening, through to Netball or Football training with friends. It doesn’t matter how active you currently are or what sport

you currently do, anyone can sign up to the challenge! It’s a great way to engage with your friends, colleagues and other schools. The more activity you do, the more points you get... and points make prizes!

National 8 Week Challenge: Starting on 5th January 2015
