Rightmove’s social media perks campaign

Rightmove has appointed social influence marketing specialist PeerIndex www.peerindex.com to help generate an online buzz in preparation of their new summer campaign, by utilising PeerIndex’s PeerPerks service to offer free copies of the book Successful Property Letting by David Lawrenson, to social media influencers in the property category. PeerPerks is a new service that

lets people benefit from their social media profile by giving them a chance to receive free products based on their activity and influence on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The company’s technology assesses social media profiles to identify people with influence on specific topics. It facilitates a sampling interaction between the brand and influential individuals, giving consumers a great experience which they can then share with their friends via social platforms. The Rightmove campaign

targets influential UK social media users who write on topics including real estate, interior design and architecture, inviting them to visit a campaign microsite. When they register with the site they will be told whether they are sufficiently influential to win.

INNOVATION

Martin & Co’s ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’ concept The new ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’

Before you get excited, we’re not talking about a new chain of

Ian Wilson

Martin & Co sweetie shops to replace Woolworths on the

nation’s high streets. Martins, the national agency has thrown down the gauntlet to challenge estate agents and the established commission system for residential sales in the UK with a price busting service that claims to reduce the cost of selling by up to 90 per cent. Martin & Co Martin & Co’s Managing Director Ian Wilson comments, “With advances in technology the overwhelming majority of buyer enquiries now come over the Internet, the current system is outdated, over- priced and we believe the selling public are ready to embrace technology as they have done in several other sectors, to significantly bring down the cost of selling.”

service allows sellers to utilise and only pay for the elements of the service they require, but with the guidance and support of their local Martin & Co office.

Ian continued, “The current

‘no sale-no fee’ system penalises motivated sellers as those that do sell have to subsidise all the overpriced properties that the agent has to market. However our service favours the motivated sellers as they ensure their price is correct and as a result pay a fraction of the typical fee.” “Frankly,

traditional estate agency practise

penalises the motivated sellers who take the trouble to

prepare their property for sale and set a realistic price. They pay commission which subsidises the sellers who are over-priced and don’t achieve a sale. Instead, our model encourages sellers to have realistic price expectations because the faster they sell the more they will save on our fees,” added Ian.

JUBILEE

Waterfords royal display

Waterfords’ Camberley branch won the firms’ competition to find the best decorated office for the Royal Jubilee celebrations. Each branch was given a £25 budget to adorn their office with Union flags and it was then all down to their imaginations and interior design skills. The winning team received a cash prize to spend as they wish. Brendan Cox, Managing

Director of Waterfords said, “The Camberley branch put together a very classy display. This fun challenge encourages team work and promotes and reinforces our core values internally.”
