RICS’ NEW PRESIDENTIAL TEAM RICS has announced the inauguration of its new presidential team, with Alan Collett succeeding See Lian Ong as the 131st President of the institution. The inauguration in Dublin was


the first to take place outside the UK. Michael Newey takes office as President Elect, while Louise Brooke Smith becomes the institution’s first female Senior Vice President. Robert Mayhew is Vice President, while Martin Brühl and Chris Fossick will continue in their roles. Bill Gater continues as RICS


Honorary Treasurer and Rob Mahoney continues in his role of RICS Honorary Secretary. Elections for the new presidential team were held at the RICS Governing Council Meeting in March. The successful candidates will now set about leading the development of the organisation’s vision and strategy, along with the RICS Governing Council. Alan Collett, incoming RICS

Mike Bidwell has nearly thirty


years of estate agency experience mostly in East Anglia and has been with Fine & Country for almost a third of that time in a senior


national role. In addition he has worked with leading estate agency companies and trainers from around the world and through this has developed a creative and diverse approach to selling and marketing residential property. He has recruited a dynamic team that includes Michael Houlden and Donna Notley with 40 years of combined experience between them. Mike Bidwell says, “I am

PROMOTIONS AT CONNELLS GROUP ESTATES The Connells Group is delighted to announce two promotions within its Estates department. Ian Griffiths takes on the role of Group Estates Director and Alison Lomas has become Group Legal Estates Director.


Ian has been with the Connells Group for four years. Prior to his recent


promotion, he was Head of Estates. A Chartered Surveyor, Ian


has 30 years experience and currently has primary responsibility for directing all Connells Group activity with regard to property acquisitions and disposals and estate management of the Group’s significant property assets. He has also been involved in numerous corporate acquisitions. “I am delighted to be promoted to Group Estates Director after being with the Group for four years,” says Ian. “Our department plays a vital role in managing the Group’s sizeable property portfolio. We ensure that all of Connells’ property requirements are met in the most efficient and cost effective way possible.”


Alison has


worked for the Connells Group for seven years, joining from a legal firm where she specialised in


commercial property. Alison is responsible for all legal and contractual elements of the Group’s property assets, as well as its various subsidiaries. “It’s fantastic to be recognised


for my work here, I am thrilled to take on the role of Group Legal Estates Director going forward,” says Alison. “The Connells Group has extensive property


requirements and the combined expertise of our Estates team ensures the business is getting best value and that it is fully protected legally.”
