On 3rd June, thousands fl ocked to Crown Road in St Margarets to enjoy a Jubilee themed street party hosted by the St Margaret’s Traders’ Association. Fitz-Gibbon sponsored the stage where bands played throughout the day and locals soaked up the fantastic atmosphere created by a variety of entertainers, stalls, children’s fairground rides and a Jubilee tea party. “The event, was organised


as a celebration of our local community and raised over £4,000 to support local schools and charities including Jonny’s Journey”, says Simon Chapman of the Traders’ Association. Susan Fitz-Gibbon, Managing Director of Fitz-Gibbon added “Local sponsorship is important to Fitz-Gibbon because we are very much


part of the community in all the areas where we have offi ces. We fi rst started to sponsor local events some twenty years ago and continue to do so – it’s wonderful to know that we can give something back”.


Dacre man carries Olympic Torch


Dacre, Son & Hartley’s fi nancial director, John Skinner enjoyed the once in a lifetime opportunity of carrying the Olympic Torch on its tour of the UK. John, who carried the torch


through Ripon was selected as one of 8,000 torchbearers in recognition of his contribution to North Stainley Junior Cricket club which he began coaching in 2002 when there were just six children. Today the club has


instrumental role in setting up a girls’ cricket league in North Yorkshire. John says, “Carrying the
