Spicerhaart acquireS BrookS
Spicerhaart has completed the acquisition of Brooks, an independent agency in Stoke Newington, North London and a mainstay of the area for over 25 years. The branch will be rebranded as Brooks – in association with Felicity J Lord. All of the remaining staff have been retained by Spicerhaart. Brooks is the second acquisition by Spicerhaart in as many months in North London, following the purchase of Islington-based Thomson Currie, subsequently rebranded as Felicity J Lord. In the last 12 months alone, Spicerhaart has bought no fewer than half a dozen companies nationally as part of an ongoing acquisition strategy by the multi-award winning company. Paul Smith, CEO of Spicerhaart says, “The acquisition of Brooks reaffirms our position as the most active independent estate agency group in London. I am confident that with the backing of Spicerhaart, and in particular the Felicity J Lord brand, Brooks will continue to play its part in the development of Stoke Newington into one of the most sought after areas in London.”

number of opportunities for further expansion in 2011 and into 2012, which will see it expand from its existing network of branches, which span as far west as Bristol and south to Brighton and Hove. In Muswell Hill, Hamptons will

first time to complement its Sales presence in both areas. In Oxford, a new branch has opened to accommodate its existing Sales teams whilst a Lettings operation will open in Summertown for the first time. In Gerrards Cross, Hamptons
International has acquired another agent’s office, and introducing a Lettings team.
Finally, in Marlow, Hamptons is

Marc Goldberg, Head of Sales
says, “We are reviewing a number of options for expansion this year in order to maximise market potential. With the lettings market surging across the country, our immediate priority has been to meet a demand for a lettings presence in certain areas across our network. The sales market is also performing extremely strongly in our sector of the market and we are looking to capitalise on this in strategic locations. We intend to grow up and out from our existing network to create a strong hold across the South of England.”
