SPATEX 2015 Ups Its Game – BIG Time!

TOP VENUES ATTRACT TOP ACTS AND COVENTRY CITY FC ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES RETURNING TO THE RICOH ARENA! FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS OF ITS INAUGURAL YEAR AT THE JAGUAR EXHIBITION HALL IN COVENTRY, SPATEX TOO IS PREPARING FOR A RETURN GAME

W

ith just over four months to go before kick-off at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, SPATEX has signed some major industry

names to produce a highly enviable fixtures list that firmly keeps it in the Premier League. The team is match-fit and all ready for the whistle to blow on what promises to be an unparalleled display of expertise and skill.

NOT ONE BUT TWO SETS OF SEMINAR PROGRAMMES! Since its inception 19 years ago, SPATEX is widely regarded as so much more than just a pool and spa exhibition. It is by far the UK’s largest gathering of representatives from the pool and spa industry, both home and away, showcasing their latest innovations and, bristling as it is with experts, a fantastic platform for valuable training and education. The ISPE (Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers) Workshops have proved highly popular and are established as an integral part of SPATEX. Now, responding to demand, SPATEX is taking education to the next level for 2015… made possible, in large part, to the overwhelming support of all the industry’s main organisations. In the words of Dennis Freeman-Wright of the ASA: “There is no doubt that SPATEX is the leading exhibition platform for swimming pools, both for domestic and community provision.” Not one for half measures, SPATEX is proud to announce that it will be hosting a ‘Seminar Two programme’, to be held in parallel to the ISPE Workshops during the three days of the Show. Details are still being finalised but here’s a taste of what is to come:

SUNDAY 1 FEBRUARY (11.00): A COURSE IN LEAK DETECTION: An intense hands-on workshop by two of the industry’s most eminent experts, revealing how you can turn troublesome leak problems into profit making opportunities.

SUNDAY 1 FEBRUARY (14.30) AND MONDAY 2 FEBRUARY (TIME TBC): Marketing Your Wet Leisure Business For Growth And Profit: A talk by Marketing Manager, Aren Grimshaw. A must-attend event for anyone interested in raising their

company profile using social media. Aren produced a strategy, on behalf of a UK based tech company, and increased new business enquiries through social networks by 500% and the average order value by 100%, leading to a 500% increase in turnover over four years.

MONDAY 2 FEBRUARY (11.00): A Talk By BISHTA And STA On An Important Pool Plant Update: Theo Millward, Operations Director for the STA (Swimming Teachers’ Association) says: “For the STA, as the UK’s leading authority on pool plant management, it makes perfect sense to partner with the UK’s largest and most dynamic dedicated wet leisure event. Scoring an industry first, we are holding a special two-hour seminar, in conjunction with BISHTA, to deliver an important pool plant update that will be of interest to everyone involved in pool management.”

SPATEX HOSTS THE UK’S FIRST DEDICATED SPA SESSIONS DAY With the increased interest and popularity in spas, SPATEX has designated Tuesday 3 February as Spa Day and as part of the ISPE-organised programme of Workshops, the Industry’s top names have been invited to give a series of talks on the latest guidance and expert advice. Topics will include ‘The water treatment of display spas’, ‘Commercial spa management’, ‘Water treatment for domestic spas’ and ‘Commercial spas versus domestic spas – which type of unit to use where and why’. It’s an absolute must-attend event for all spa companies and those wishing to learn more about the maintenance and selling of spas, be they commercial or domestic. Ross Alcock of the ISPE says: “We have responded to visitor feedback which called for a greater focus on spas in addition to that already awarded to pools. Plus, a few months ago the ISPE presented a one-day seminar entirely on the subject of

spas, which was extremely well received, and there was a distinct demand for information in this specialist area. We are putting together an expert-led package with something for everybody who is involved with either domestic or commercial spas, whether it be managing their use, installing, servicing or selling them.”

A HOST OF BRAND NEW ISPE WORKSHOPS With 20 new titles and an update of one or two of the most popular topics, the ISPE Workshop programme for 2015 covers all areas of the pool and spa trade, both commercial and domestic. Whether your interest is in water treatment or testing, commercial pool operation, fitting covers, servicing heat pumps, tiling, construction, servicing or maintenance, SPATEX Workshops offer tips, advice and ideas that will improve your knowledge. There will also be sessions on new Standards and Guidance that affect all in the pool and spa trade.

THE BEAUTIFUL GAME AND SPATEX 2015 The directors of SPATEX are delighted to hear that the Sky Blues are returning to the Ricoh Arena this season. For our exhibitors and visitors, it will provide a unique opportunity to mix business and pleasure, as corporate packages will be available to buy for Coventry’s home game against Rochdale on Saturday 31 January and Coventry City Ladies FC against Wolverhampton Wanderers LFC. There is also a game scheduled on Sunday 1 February. The Ricoh Arena was built to serve as a multi-purpose venue and its owners, ACL, have successfully held concurrent events for nine years so it is very much business as usual. With over 2,000 free car parking spaces at the Ricoh Arena, there’s plentiful parking and accessibility to the Ricoh Arena’s Jaguar Exhibition Hall. It is anticipated that the return of the football club will encourage even more potential footfall for SPATEX 2015! SPN
