Waterco’s Commercial MultiCyclone XL recognised At Industry Awards

Waterco has been recognised for outstanding achievement with a number prestigious industry awards for its revolutionary Commercial MultiCyclone XL 70. The Swimming Pool & Spa Association of SA and the Swimming Pool & Spa Alliance both recognised Waterco’s products at their recent Awards of Excellence and Waterco’s MultiCyclone XL receive d the 2014 Sustainability Award (Water) in both South Australia and New South Wales. “Invented and designed in Australia, this product is unique on the global market thanks to our commitment to research, development and innovation,” says Tony Fisher, Waterco Europe. “This allows us to keep ahead of competitors and lead the way in the water treatment and commercial swimming pool industry.” “To win a gold award for the MultiCyclone XL70 in both states from leading industry authorities within such a competitive business, is a proud achievement for Waterco. These awards are all about setting new pool and spa industry benchmarks, so we are delighted to have our products independently recognised.” The Commercial MultiCyclone

XL’s environmental credentials and ability to save water impressed the awards judges

sufficiently to reward it with the 2014 Sustainability Award (Water). The standard model MultiCyclone claimed this same award in 2012, and has also received 11 other international awards, including the Sustainability Award at Piscina Barcelona. The system works on the basis of centrifugal water filtration. With no moving parts to wear and tear, and no filter media to clean or replace, incoming water is guided by a diverter plate so that it enters multiple hydro cyclones tangentially, generating a strong centrifugal effect.

“The MultiCyclone XL pre-filter is an essential addition to any commercial pool or water treatment application and filters out up to 80% of the filter’s incoming dirt load prior to the main filter,” says Fisher. “This reduces the load on the filter, thus reducing the frequency of filter maintenance by up to 80% and saving backwash water. And as the MultiCyclone XL intercepts more and more sediment, the flow rate remains unchanged, improving pool water circulation. “Waterco was delighted to accept these awards which reflect our commitment to

Golden Coast Seals Exclusive UK Distribution Deal With Triogen TR2 Systems

Golden Coast and Triogen Ltd have announced an exclusive distribution agreement for Triogen’s TR2 low-pressure UV disinfection systems in the UK. Welcoming the deal, Golden Coast’s Managing Director Jamie Adams says: “We are very keen to bring the benefits of Triogen’s technology to more pool and spa owners, particularly in the residential sector. There are many different situations in which its cost-effective options will give users greater confidence in the health of their wet leisure environment.”

The essential principle of these systems is that they use radiation from UV lamps to inactivate the cells of unhealthy or undesirable organisms in the water. Medium-pressure lamps are often used for large swimming pools, but low-pressure lamps are more than sufficiently effective for residential pools and spas – and have the advantage of consuming less energy.

Other cost-saving features of the TR2 range 24 October 2014 SPN

include automatic shutdown to conserve power in the absence of flow, as well as a robust, hardwearing, low-maintenance construction. Their reactor bodies are made from UV-inhibited polymeric materials, which are totally resistant to corrosion, and their UV lamps have a life of 18 months. The compact units have been designed for quick and easy fitting, so that installation is inexpensive. Each comes complete with union adapters, a pressure gauge and a flow switch, ready for simple connection to a suitably protected power supply. TR2 units are available in four sizes, to treat flows of 11, 22, 32 or 40 cubic metres per hour. They are equipped with two, three or four high- output UV lamps and can deliver UV irradiation at a powerful dose of 30 mJ per square centimetre.
