In this issue we have a preview of Piscine Global, an event that is seen by many as by far the most important show on the worldwide exhibition calendar. Pulling together three shows under the newly created Piscine Global brand, the four day show in Lyon literally is a must attend event and it covers all aspects of our industry. Much anticipated and always featuring a strong focus on innovation, there will be numerous exciting new products on show

After a hectic few months, there’s no disguising the fact that many in the industry are literally burned out, but would we have it any other way? Of course not. What a truly great year it’s been. Without exception, every single person I have spoken with has had a fantastic season so smiles are going hand in hand with exhaustion.

But before you settle down with your latest copy of SPN following a well earned pat on the back, there’s still a lot more happening in the fi nal months of this memorable year.

By the time you receive this edition, LIW will be underway at the NEC in Birmingham and following it, the industry’s attention will then turn to two major European biennial shows – Germany’s interbad in October and then the big one – France’s Piscine Global in November.

The SPN team will be attending all three of these important shows and will bring news from each in either the magazine or online.

At Lyon, winners of the 2014 EUSA Awards will also be announced and I’m pleased once again to have been asked to be a judge for the UK entries for important awards which showcase the best in the industry. Last year, Torquay based Harris Pools & Hot Tubs enjoyed success winning a silver award, so fi ngers crossed for some more UK success this time around as all the winners will be published in our December edition.

With the weather literally just started to turn, so too are the thoughts of the industry towards the cooler and no doubt wetter months. So a feature on Enclosures is very appropriate for this issue. We also cover Tiled Spas and Swim Spas, a market that is going from strength to strength thanks to its fl exible bespoke designs plus Steam Rooms, another area that is buoyant and is part of the increasingly important Wellness sector offering. Repairs and Renovation and Stretch Ceilings complete the features line up for this edition so hopefully, there’s something of interest for everyone.

Of course, we’ve also got all the latest industry news from both home and abroad plus an interesting look at the value and use of social media.

So I hope you enjoy this issue of SPN and if you are out and about at any of the shows over the coming weeks, do say hi and feel free to let me know your thoughts on SPN, the industry or anything else for that matter!
