THE BUSINESS MAGAZINE – THAMES VALLEY – DECEMBER14/JANUARY15

Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has invested in the future of the region’s blossoming start-up technology scene with a £145,000 funding of the Connect TVT hub at Green Park in Reading.

The much-needed funding will ensure the continued growth of ConnectTVT and its tech innovation hub Grow@GreenPark, a collaboration space to which Thames Valley technology entrepreneurs have been gravitating since it was launched in June.

The two-year deal will see vital pump-priming monies delivered to ConnectTVT before the end of this year which will allow the organisation, created by local business professionals Louize Clarke and Adam Clark to continue to provide a ‘voice’, support and showcase for aspiring technology businesses.

While only 10 weeks old itself, ConnectTVT has already:

• Supported over 20 tech start-up businesses

• Built a Meetup community of over 180 members

• Established an active network of high-calibre mentors, entrepreneurs in residence, and angel investors

• Built strong connections with major technology and business organisations and academic networks including the University of Reading student community

• Created an eco-system of developers and creatives to support the local start-up community

• Enabled collaboration between four active technology projects and established international tie-ins with Startup Grind based in California.
