practices are the flag bearers of the CQS and this recognition of the quality of their service begins a new chapter in the home buying process. CQS accredited legal practices will be clearly visible to any one looking to buy a home. “For what is the most expensive purchase of anyone’s lifetime, it is vital that they can rely on the quality service provision of CQS.” Jim Wyatt, Partner at Hamers Solicitors LLP says, “As the legal services market place opens up yet further in October customers will have a greater choice of legal providers. We want to be able to compete in this new market by offering customers a cost effective quality conveyancing service. This accreditation will help us do so.” Martin Elliott of Martin Elliott &

AssociAtions New Guild initiative to sell more homes

The Guild of Professional Estate Agents (GPEA) has launched a new

Accelerated Marketing Programme which has been specifically designed to maximise the impact, appeal and resonance of a property in today’s stable but challenging market, and help its member agents gain competitive advantage.

With 1.3m homes for sale and an average of just 50,000 completed transactions per month the typical vendor has a 1 in 20, or 5 per cent chance of successfully selling their home in any given 4 week period. This new initiative will

provide GPEAs 600 member

agents with access to a powerful programme of marketing tools, ensuring their properties will be presented more attractively and reach more property searchers than the competition. The programme consists of a short film “videoette” which provides a life-like glimpse into what it might be like to live in the property, 50 high quality A4 brochures, 30 direct mail cards that will be distributed to carefully selected potential buyers, and attractive window cards to showcase the home in the estate agent’s office. This helps animate and narrow- down the search and saves time on physically visiting all properties short listed – and in turn the agent’s time taken to facilitate this. The home will

also reach more prospective buyers searching in the local vicinity via a dedicated full page feature in the agents’ own regional property magazine. The programme will only

be available through the Guild network at a projected cost of £199 per property; a fraction of the total cost if a vendor was to buy the various services individually.

Marcus Whewell, CEO says, “I am delighted that once again, we have led the way in providing compelling and innovative marketing solutions which offer great value for money. Guild Agents uphold the highest standards of expertise and customer care, and more than ever, current and potential vendors should seek out their local Guild member and explore how they can help them secure the result they deserve for their property.” Correction: The March edition

of PROPERTYdrum included an item about the GPEA. Unfortunately the photo of Marcus Whewell was placed, in error, in the adjacent news item. We apologise to Mr Whewell and for any confusion.

This can only be good for the consumer.”
