YPI Update by Miranda Muir

Summer Workshop Outing The Florida Young Professionals Initiative was treated to a spooky tour of the Yesteryear Village, on the South Florida Fairgrounds, during Summer Workshop. The tour headline is the famous Riddle House which has been featured on the

Travel Channel show Ghost Adventures. From the Pineapple Processing Plant to the Corbett Shack, guides shared

stories of

first hand experiences and strange happenings throughout history. A spe- cial thank you to the South Florida Fair for providing the tickets for the group and Paige Poole for helping organize the tour.

2014-2015 Fair Tours YPI Members are encouraged to participate in this year’s Fair Tours. The group will be attending 3 different events this year and receive guided tours of the facilities and events, be treated to some be- hind the scenes information, and of course have time to explore on their own. It is a great opportuni- ty to network and stumble upon new ideas. The group will visit the following Fairs; Volusia County Fair, November 15th, Osceola County Fair, February 21st, and Miami-Dade County Fair, March 28th. Additional information including meeting times and R.S.V.P. requests will be distributed closer to each event.

2015 Florida Federation of Fairs Convention We are currently exploring ideas for YPI events for next year’s annual convention. If you have a unique idea or are familiar with the St. Augustine area and can help guide the group regarding hotspots and possibilities, please let a member of the YPI Committee know. We would love your help and welcome additional thoughts and ideas.

The Florida Federation of Fairs Young Professionals Initiative is designed to encourage industry employees, volunteers, and supporters of the fairs, under the age of 40, to become more active and involved. It is a great opportunity to network and a fun way to learn more about our ever chang- ing events.
