THE BUZZ
Integrative Wellness Council of Maine
I
ntegrative Wellness Council of Maine is a new association that is forming with the goal of creating a group of providers from a broad-range of wellness disciplines, who promote, practice, and ad- vocate for holistic and integrative practices. Tisha Bremner, of Inner Light Yoga of Maine, is the Chair of IWCME and she is leading the effort to create this community of integrative health care providers. The hope of Integrative Wellness Council of Maine is to pro-
vide a venue to network with like-minded practitioners and offer an opportunity to promote integrative practices through quarterly meetings and a newsletter. In addition, IWCME would like to offer a one-stop shop statewide website to promote evidence-based, integrative practices ranging from medical care, health coaching, counseling services, spinal manipulation, massage, yoga, medita- tion, nutritional counseling, and more. The fi rst meeting was held in Lewiston on June 4, 2014 and
practitioners were in attendance from Central and Southern Maine. The council proposes to meet on a quarterly basis, rotating the location between Southern, Central and Mid-Coast Maine. At the quarterly meetings, members will have the ability to share infor- mation, ideas and techniques with like-minded practitioners and providers within the community.
