DART NOTES
NeW CRIMe THRILLeR BY KINGSWEAR AUTHOR
K
ingswear author Nick Fletcher has just published a new crime thriller featuring a private detective who is not afraid to break the law himself to ensure justice is done.
Snapshot is a collection of eight novellas about ex-
journalist turned private eye Max Slater, the subject of two previous novels by Nick, who lives at Hill Head Park, and is a contributing writer to By The Dart. The cover photograph of book was taken in Dartmouth (can you guess where?). The stories, involving murder, sex and vengeance, are set in the UK, France, Spain, and California and feature Max using some of his journalistic skills in a series of offbeat adventures including the murder of a photographer in Dorset and a strange double killing in a French villa. “Max is quite different to most fictional private
detectives,” said Nick. “ He has a strong sense of honour so sees solving crimes as a personal crusade and so as a last resort he will sometimes step outside the law to ensure justice is done. “This is my fourth crime novel and so far, my impact on the best-seller list is too small be to measured, but I live in hope! “ Snapshot is published in paperback and is available on Amazon, and direct from Nick’s website

There will also be refreshments in- side the church and a comprehensive exhibition, showing the complicated scheme needed to repair the cor- roded bell frame which will involve removing both the tower clock and all the bells. The clock dates from 1879 and the six bells were installed in 1778, their last major repair being in 1927. The heaviest bell in St. Pe- ter’s weighs about as much as a classic Mini - which is why corrosion in the bell frame is such a serious issue! Those who are fit and energetic and
