This not only instills a team mentality, but allows them to finish a job in half the time as the traditional one- man per car style. “One guy is good at the oscillator signal, one guy at wiring, one guy at building an enclosure. The whole team works on one car until it’s finished. I know it’s weird but it’s what works for us. Where one person might get a job done in 30 minutes, we’re gonna get that car done in 10 minutes. It’s a collaboration method. It works for us and I think it would work in other places.” The installers, and staff as a whole, are uniformed with polo shirts for the two
managers (Coil and Autry) and company t-shirts for the rest, with the lower half more relaxed with either jeans or shorts. The staff is made up of seven people, including two managers, three installa- tion technicians, one outside sales person, and a part-time bookkeeper. All staff are trained onsite through shadowing and working directly with senior staff. Autry and Coil handle most sales transactions, while the remaining staff handles installations. All staff are trained to handle both installations and sales if needed and help clean wherever necessary during down time. The installation facilities consist of
four install bays, one fabrication room and 400 square feet of storage to keep all supplies out of the customer’s view. “Our procedures include a check-in and check-out list,” Autry added. “My main concern when delivering a car to a client is to make sure it’s 100 percent. Anything less makes us look like idiots and all the selling goes out the window.”
