lution training—a decision prompted by Cartronix’s successful involvement with Sonus Evolution in the past. “The amount of knowledge was a huge thing for us. It helped us increase our labor rate. It helped us close more sales. It helped us produce a lot more custom fabrication jobs overall,” Carter said. “It kind of pushed us over the envelope to do a little bit more, so we’re very excited to be able to go again.” Carter has been in the mobile electronics business since sixth
grade, when he began showing up at his father’s shop to help out. “I just kept coming,” he said. Now that his father’s business has been passed on to him,
Carter is intent on growing and improving. “We’re really concentrating on being the best there is within a
100-mile radius, to do things right every single time.” He must be doing things right, because he says he regularly works on cars owned by employees of Best Buy, which is within walking distance of Cartronix. “We even worked for the guy who heads the car stereo depart-
ment,” Carter said. “I tried to take a picture of his car with him in his uniform, but he wouldn’t let me.”
