Mayan Wonder Bars
Makes 12 – 2 1/2″ Squares 20 minute preparation 15 minute cooking
Ingredients 1 ½ Cup Almond butter ½ Cup Maple syrup ½ Cup Brown rice syrup or coconut nectar ¼ tsp Cardamom powder ¼ tsp Cinnamon powder ½ Cup Quinoa ½ Cup Sunflower seeds ¾ Cup Pumpkin seeds ¼ Cup Chia or Hemp seeds ½ Cup Pecans or macadamia nuts, toasted & chopped Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Mix almond butter, syrups and spices in a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
2. Spread on a well oiled 9”x 13” baking dish and bake until golden brown, approximately 15 minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing
Hi there all you Cats out there in Herb The Cat land. Today we are going to focus on one of the two things that everyone is most interested in. That one thing is money and you know what the other is. However, this month is money, check back next month and you might get lucky with your favorite subject.
Money is said to be the root of all evil, but if it is, we are all perusing evil because you just can’t get along with- out money. Everyone we deal with insists on exchanging their goods and services for money because the things they desire can only be obtained with money, That’s what makes the world go round for us Cats.
I talked to Zelda Cat yesterday and she said that she want- ed to do spiritual readings and spiritual counseling and that her Guru said that she could not charge for spiritual work because it was spiritual and that it was above charg- ing and she wanted to know what she would do because the bills were pouring in and there was no money to pay her bills because she was not allowed to charge for her readings and spiritual counseling. I said “ that’s litter box Cat feathers” There MUST be an equal exchange of energy and after all, guru is spelled gee, you are you, so why are you looking outside yourself for answers to someone who thinks they know it all? We all have the same access to God because we are all collectively God and have access to that source, Just meditate and it will all come to you from the collective consciousness.
On the other hand I talked to Allaile Cat and she said that her Guru told her that she could not do any “cut – rate” readings or spiritual counseling to attract new customers because she would be “prostituting” herself and she was worth more. However, she had not gotten any new customers and was unable to pay her bills and might be evicted from her apartment. I said that refus- ing to temporarily reducing her rates to attract business from new Cats was Guess What? You are right, “Litter box Cat feathers” again. When you are in business in the business world, you do promotions and work in a way that you get new customers and get some money until you are so good that you are turning people away and the, n you can name your own price to all Cats. That’s the way it is whether you are spiritual or not. We are in the world, but not of it means we follow business rules, etc. but don’t rise above it in working in it, we just don’t try to do some of the world’s dirty tricks. If you only take one thing from my column today, Ole Herb The Cat asks you to remember that Guru is spelled Gee, you are YOU and that there’s NOTHING outside yourself, so follow your intuition, not somebody else whose trying to run your life!
