Sue Atkins 5 MINUTES WITH

What made you become a parenting coach? I became a Parent Coach after both my parents died within a year of each other, and I reflected that the biggest gift they had given me was the gift of self esteem. I left teaching and re trained as a Life Coach and NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer.

What does a typical day involve for you? I work in schools running my ‘Confidence Classes for Schools’. Then I write articles and do my daily blog and have a few hours off before coaching my clients over Skype or the telephone.

Why do you love what you do?

I’m passionate about raising happy, confident, well behaved children who can grow up to fulfil their true potential free from the crippling effects of low self esteem.

How do you relax? I relax by walking my dogs in the countryside, meeting friends for dinner and reading.

Strictly or the X factor? It’s got to be Strictly Come Dancing as it is so uplifting, positive and full of joy. I look forward to it every Saturday.

How often do you get to travel?

I love travelling and have been fortunate to have been to Australia, Cuba, South Africa, USA and all round Europe. In fact I have just booked up to go to Malta in February as I have never been - Mexico is next on my list !

What is you most cherished possession? Photos of my kids and my parents.

Do you have any projects in mind for 2014? I am creating my Parenting Made Easy CDs. They are available now on my website as MP3 Downloads and are a quick and easy way to access my ideas and techniques. Lots of parents have asked me to make them available to listen to in the car on the way back from the school run!
