IAFE NEWS This year’s IAFE Convention will be held December 8 – 12th


at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. If you haven’t already planned to attend, you might want to consider it but act quick – registration closes November 8th. The IAFE Annual Convention and Trade Show will help you discover


and implement ideas that deliver results. It will provide opportunities to make valuable connections with other fair professionals/volunteers and suppliers who have solutions you need in just a few days. If you are the only one from your Fair attending the IAFE Convention,

vention will feature a special educational track called “Dream Big for Small Budgets.” This track will include: Dream Big on Small Budgets- Entertain- ment and Contests; Dream Big Food Drive- Ideas, Contributors, New Community Ties; Dream Big on Small Budgets – Advertising; Dream Big on Small Budgets – Technology; Dream Big on Small Budgets- Competitive Exhibits Displays. The Mastering Marketing – Another Special Convention Track will fea-


ture multiple sessions, workshops and/or round table discussions on mar- keting concepts and practices. Here are some of the topics in the Market- ing Track:


Naming Rights: Selling & Pricing Beer Festivals as Marketing Tools Social Media Mastery: Ask the Experts’ Secret Sauce of Advance Revenue for Your Fair Facebook Contest Rules and Parameters Proven Family Fair Marketing

The YPI brings together fair staff and volunteers age 40

December 9, in the morning session, recognizing an out- standing young leader. A Mixer with Mentors is scheduled for Monday afternoon, December 9, providing a great op- portunity for young leaders to mix and mingle with career mentors, which include a number of well-established fair executives. Tuesday evening, December 10, there will be a reception for all Young Professionals. The YPI will again sponsor an educational session.
