FLORIDA FAIR NEWS
Northwest Florida Fair By Lisa Hinton
Midst all the hustle and bustle of opening day, Bull
Rigdon and Terri Wilkins graciously took the time to visit with me and my husband Bob on our recent trip to visit some of our Fall Fairs. It was so good to see them and we got a great “preview” of the Fair before the gates opened. When you drive in you see the signage for the “Bull
Rigdon Fairgrounds” – what an awesome tribute to Bull who has given so much to the Northwest Florida Fair and to the Florida Federation of Fairs. The first thing you see when you walk in the gate is an
awesome “Welcome to the Northwest Florida Fair” sign and display that was done by Bull’s wife Helen. What a great way to welcome people to your grounds! Bull was also proud of the 1943 Oliver tractor that had been refurbished and was part of another display. One of the highlights of the Fair is their great museum
exhibit. They have accumulated a great variety of very unique items that you can’t see anywhere else. One of the really neat aspects of their exhibit is the way they incorpo- rate murals on the back walls to enhance the display. Terri also proudly explained their Ag-Adventure tours
that had over 150 school children participating every day through school tours. The tours were sponsored by 4-H and Farm Bureau and had great hands-on stations for the chil- dren to enjoy.
