FLORIDA FAIR NEWS Summer Vacation? Let's Go to Fairs!!


By Jeanne Keaton, Manager, St. Lucie County Fair Our midway operator needed some help this summer so the Board at the St.


Lucie County Fair sent Tracy Hurta our treasurer and Jeanne Keaton to the Dako- tas! We visited Red River Valley Fair in Fargo, North Dakota State Fair in Minot and the Souix Falls Empire Fair in South Dakota. Yes we worked very hard but it also gave us a chance to see each of the Fairs. We met some great people and were "hands on" at each event. The summer


experience is very different as the kids are not in school so everyday at opening (around 10 AM) the grounds were hoppin'!! I was very glad to see the additional attention paid to the livestock areas with regard to wash stations and pubic awareness of the current issues we deal with. All in all we had a wonderful time and can't wait to see our new friends in Vegas.
