Gayle Hart on her first stop of the 2013-14 Fair Season
The Greater Jacksonville Fair would like to thank
all that participated in the Summer Workshop in Jacksonville this past August. It was a pleasure having you here in River City and I do hope you found the workshops and information ben- eficial for the upcoming year.
The 2013 Fair trip to the East Texas State Fair and the State Fair of
Texas was an honor and privilege that all of us that had the opportunity to participate will never forget. The special treatment we received from John Sykes of the East Texas State Fair and Errol McKoy of the State Fair of Texas only added to the excitement of visiting the Lone Star state. I will never forget the extremely original fried foods at the Texas Fair, the sight of Ellany Johnson on a Long Horn steer and Miranda Lambert wine at the Pink Pistol (not to mention all of that bling!) We traveled with 17 lucky attendees representing the Collier County Fair, Florida Strawberry Festival, Greater Jacksonville Fair, Pasco County Fair, South Florida Fair, Southwest Florida Fair, Volusia County Fair and of course the invaluable Lisa Hinton for the Fair trip of a lifetime. I urge you to sign up next year for a chance to see the country, travel with some great Florida folks and see what is new and innovative in the Fair industry across our great nation.
Several of our Florida Fairs will be attending the IAFE convention in
Vegas in December and if you do plan to attend we hope you will join our Florida Federation Run for the Bacon team on Sunday morning, December 8. This year we plan to wear custom Florida Federation t- shirts so please join us as either a 5K runner or walker. You will enjoy the fellowship, but you will mostly love the bacon and croissants at the finish line!
Have a wonderful Fall season and see you at the Fair! Gayle Hart
time in Florida! I wish the best of luck and great weather to those planning a Fall Fair. The hard work that everyone puts into their Fair organiza- tion to support our industry is truly commendable; please support their efforts with a visit!
