Tis offers students the opportunity to be atached to a business to undertake a particular research programme or spend up to 14 days in a business working on a specific project. Such projects are a win-win for both the employer and the student: not only do they help businesses carry out a specific task, they are also part of a student’s university course and provide them with valuable ‘real life’ work experience.


Outwith Glasgow


Tere are also a number of initiatives available outwith the Glasgow city boundary. Tese include the North Lanarkshire Jobs


Fund and South Lanarkshire Works 4 U schemes, which provide up to £2,500 towards the salary of a young person. Tis is just a flavour of what is available. Like any good cocktail, Workforce


Commonwealth Youth Fund


•Offers 50 per cent wage subsidy towards first year of employment


•Salary is based on a percentage of £7.50 Glasgow Living wage up to £6151.60 •Potential to claim money towards
