our go-live date.” Implementation of the

K3 Syspro mobile solution began in November 2012 and was completed in weeks. Throughout this time, K3 Syspro worked closely with a project management team at Smurfit Czech to ensure that all of the aims of the business were clearly understood and met. K3 Syspro were great and worked with us to ensure the task was successfully completed without slowing down the implementation process.” Smurfit Czech has been using mobile scanners with Syspro for the last six months and is seeing

a real increase in productivity levels. The company no longer has to perform time consuming manual downloads of stock information. The process of movements in stock is also a lot

quicker than when the company used manual methods and Smurfit Czech is now able to fulfil a larger number of orders than it could previously. More information from K3

Sludge dewatering plant for Stora Enso in Sweden

Stora Enso has ordered a new sludge dewatering line from Andritz for the thickening and dewatering of fibrous sludges for its board mill at Skoghall in Sweden. With a capacity of 750,000

tons per year, Skoghall is one of the world’s largest producers of board used to make drinks cartons. Start-up of the new Andritz plant is scheduled for April 2014. The order includes the

delivery of a gravity table and a sludge screw press to process up to 50 tons of mixed sludge per

dewaters the mixed sludge to the highest possible dryness that can be currently achieved by mechanical means. To meet the new process

day, increasing the capacity of the existing sludge dewatering plants. The material to be dewatered

consists of a mixture of fibrous and biological sludges, as well as chemical sludges from the mill’s CTMP line. The screw press

requirements resulting from this plant extension, Stora Enso’s order also includes the rebuild of an existing Andritz belt press supplied in 1989. Due to the higher final dryness achieved through the dewatering lines in the future, the Skoghall mill will be able to feed a higher amount of dewatered sludge to the power boiler and operate it with greater energy efficiency.
