BRECON County Show has along tradition of attract- ing exhibitors from all over the country with ahigh standard of animals on dis- play, and this year’s event


was no exception. Brecon Agricultural Society is


the UK’soldest agricultural socie- ty,established in 1755, and the showhas entertainment forall the family. The event washeld at The


Showground, Watton Villa, Brecon on Saturday, August 3rd. Each year the showhas around


400 horse entries,100 cattle entries and morethan 400 sheep entries. The showalso hosted amajor shearing competition, apoultry show, dairy and angoragoatclass- es,horticultureand craft mar- quees,anovelty and exemption dogshowand adog agility compe- tition. With morethan 100 trade- stands and main ring attractions therewas plenty of entertainment on offer forthe thousands of visi- tors.


Among the main attractions was


the James Dylan Stunt Bikes Performance and the Powys Carriage Driving Society. The Brecon &Talybont Hunt


WINNER: Champion Herdwick, owned by Ken Flye, of Libanus, Brecon.


also had aparade of hounds in the main ring, proving popular with the younger visitors to the show.


MANE ATTRACTION: Showing of the Section DWelsh Ponies was popular with the crowds.
