FORTY DAYS AT NAC
Te Norwich Arts Centre is back with another innovative and pioneering installation to have our Norwich art fans weak at the knees. Roger Eno, East Anglian composer and sound artist presents Te St. Swithun’s Project, comprising of 40 days and 80 images half inspired by wet weather and half inspired by fair weather. Te nature of the weather on the 15th of July determined which set would be displayed and which set would be discarded, never to be seen or heard by the viewing public. Te 40 chosen images are accompanied by music composed by Eno, to play alongside each photo and compliment his artistic choices. As well as being an ingenious art and music installation, the piece also celebrates the history of the Norwich Arts Centre, with the project being named after a previous name of the Centre – St. Swithun (back when it was a church). Te whole piece encompasses Norfolk in its raw beauty, with the 40 images coming from all over and around Norfolk. Te project began on the 15th of July and will continue until the 23rd of august, from 1-1.40pm. For more information and to book tickets to the event visit

PEARL OF THE
ANTILLES
Ryan Mason sees life through a lens. As a passionate and gifted photographer, he’s most known for capturing bands at their most dynamic through his experience as a gig photographer, as well as his commercial and portrait experience. He’s covered national festivals, toured Europe with bands and has captured the biggest names on the music scene. However, it’s not just music that’s been caught in Ryan’s focus, and we’ll get to see the fruits of his labour in his first solo exhibition, ‘Pearl’ at Indigo Tattoo Studio from 4-18 Aug. Te exhibition documents his travels to Cuba, and Ryan says of his work, “Cuba is a place I've always wanted to go to. It's one of the few places that hasn’t become 'Americanised' and still retains its Spanish heritage and its own culture. I wanted to capture the natural elements of Cuba; its capital Havana, its retro transport, the architecture, the people... I wanted to capture the natural Cuba... the Pearl of the Antilles. Indigo Tattoo Studio on Lower Goat Lane has an open gallery space, and will take enquiries from artists of all nature for subsequent exhibitions.

Tere’s lots going on in the 12 days of the print fair, with open portfolio sessions, printing demonstrations and a mini print raffle making this years fair set to be a good one – as always. Te fair is due to start on the 9th of September and finish on the 21st - 12 days of printing galore. So maybe you should pop down to the print fair this coming September and have a quick peek at what’s going on, enter yourself in the mini print raffle (£1 is hardly breaking the bank) and have a little wander round the fair and appreciate some Norfolk/Suffolk born art. CHILDCARE?
If you’re the parent of a bouncing bundle of joy, you’ll know that early learning and childcare gives children a great start in life, so they can have fun, learn through play, make new friends, experience new activities and get a good start in education. You may be struggling to make that situation a reality, but the good news is that certain families may be entitled to up to 15 hours of free early learning and childcare for your two-year-old, funded by Norfolk County Council. To be eligible for free childcare, your child should be two years old (or will be by the time they take up the place) and your family should be in receipt of certain benefits – the general rule of thumb would be those families who are also eligible for free school meals, but if you’re unsure in any way, you can find out if you’re eligible, by calling the Family Information Service (FIS) on 0344 800 8020, or by emailing
take2@norfolk.gov.uk. For more information regarding the scheme, visit

ARE YOU THE NEXT BIG THING?
Tis August, Outline is proud to announce that we will be working alongside Future Radio and OPEN once again to host this year’s Next Big Ting competition. With previous winners such as Ed Sheeran, Te Kabeedies and Raevennan Husbandes, the Next Big Ting uncovers brimming potential for national and international success in local artists from the east of England. It offers a range of prizes that allow artists to grow and develop and helps to get participants’ names out there. Here at Outline we’re honoured to take such a continuous role in the event, and be part of bringing local bands to the attention of a wider audience. OPEN will be hosting the venue for the semi-finals (13th and 20th of October) and the oh-so-sought-after final (9th of November) whilst we will be hosting the online entry system for the competition.
