If there was one man that could stop us plugging our own event on this month’s front cover (ahem – the 5th Norwich Body Art Festival – turn to the centre), it was only ever going to be Alan Partridge. When people from out of the region make the Partridge connection, they ask if we’re offended. Tat would only be the case if we weren’t massively in on the joke ourselves. We’re so chuffing funny that we’ll take your casual regional prejudice and raise you a hipster-level slice of knowing irony. We’re so self-aware that we embrace our accidental Partridge moments, like the EDP this week running the beautifully twee headline, ‘Is this the best summer Norwich has ever had?!’, then listing “Peregrine Falcons” as one of the things we’ve enjoyed so far. You couldn’t make it up. At Outline, we’re so proud of Norwich’s varying guises that we just had to put AP on the cover, but second to that, we’ve fortified our local flag- flying by interviewing Lowestoft’s Ria Ritchie ahead of her Sundown homecoming appearance. And to fill up the dank crevices of the magazine, we’ve packed it full with our annual NBAF guide, giving you an insight into what’s gonna be a-cookin’, or more accurately, a-scratchin’, tappin’, scarrin’ and squealin’ at the region’s only tattoo convention. Oh, and for those of you that very much enjoyed me “doing one” over the last couple of months, fear not, I’m handing back over the reigns again next month to another guest editor… ‘Til then, deal with it, yeah?
