hen Valley Health and Fitness opened in 1997, it was equipped with the lat- est top-of-the-line equip-

600-member Cobble Hill, B.C., club is still known for its forward-thinking approach when it comes to outfitting its gym floor. But not surprisingly, the equipment has been overhauled since those early days, and today there’s no sign of the 90s.


Valley Health and Fitness personal trainer Emily Verbruggen demonstrates the club’s latest equipment upgrade to her client.


“Members love it when we introduce


new equipment,” says the club’s own- er Forrest Verbruggen. “They like to know their club is keeping up to date. Plus people need new challenges to keep them interested.” One of the club’s latest upgrades
