The building is perched on the edge of the A2 highway a major artery into Amsterdam. A river flows by the structure that has been designed with environmental concerns very much in mind.

After completing the design process it was decided by Livingprojects that the Philips Color Kinetics eW Graze was the fixture best suited to the Fletcher Hotel and its dynamic appearance. This narrow, but powerful, fixture was chosen, in part, because it would not hinder the window cleaning system that has to be able to go up and down the building and over the lighting fixtures. Hauptverkehrsstrassen Amsterdams, ist das Fletch- er Hotel eine beeindruckende Markierung an der Einfahrt zum Venedig des Nordens. Das Gebäude trumpft mit einer komplett verglasten Fassade und runden Fenstern auf, die dem Gebäude ein markantes und dennoch zurückhaltendes Design verleihen. Nach der Beendigung des Designprozesses wurde durch Livingprojects beschlossen, dass die Philips Color Kinetics eW Graze am besten für das Fletcher Hotel und sein dynamisches Design geeignet sind. The outer shell of the structure is comprised of printed glass screens that are mounted on a solid lightweight inner façade with integrated fixed windows. The transparent shell acts to insulate the building from noise pollution, an important addition, given the structure’s location near a busy motorway. With its ecologically minded nature and modern design, the Fletcher Hotel is a forward-looking structure, in a nation that is currently embracing a new era.

Fletcher Hotel ed il suo aspetto dinamico. Questo sot- tile ma potente impianto di illuminazione è stato in parte scelto perchè non avrebbe ostacolato il sistema di manutenzione e pulizia delle finestre il quale ha la necessità di potersi muovere verso l’alto ed il basso dell’edificio nonchè sulle installazioni luminose. Un totale di ottanta installazioni Philips Color Kinetics eW Graze sono state posizionate sulla struttura, dis- tribuite e intervallate in modo regolare con quaranta installazioni poste ai piedi dell’edificio e ulteriori quaranta sulla sua sommità. Il Fletcher Hotel, per merito della sua carattristica visione eco-compatibile e il suo moderno design è certamente una struttura che guarda al futuro.

Costeando la autopista A2, una de las principales arterias en Amsterdam, el Hotel Fletcher es un
impresionante marcador en la puerta a Venecia del Norte. El edificio se jacta de una fachada com- pletamente vidriada y ventanas circulares que le otorga al edificio una peculiar apariencia ya con- tenida. Luego de finalizado el proceso de diseño, Livingprojects decidió que el Philips Color Kinetics eW Graze era el artefacto que mejor encajaba con el hotel Fletcher y su dinámica apariencia. Esta an- gosta pero poderosa luminaria fue elegida, en parte, porque no entorpecería al sistema de limpieza de las ventanas que debe ser capaz de subir y bajar por el edificio y sobre los artefactos de iluminación. Se ubicaron en la estructura un total de ochenta ar- tefactos Philips Color Kinetics eW Graze, ubicados a igual distancia, cuarenta artefactos instalados en la parte inferior del edificio y cuarenta en la parte superior. Con su diseño moderno y de conciencia ecológica, el hotel Fletcher es una estructura orien- tada al futuro.
