SENSOR ARRAY
The sensor array typically includes particle monitoring for wear debris with sensors of the MCS 1000 series. The MCS 1510 wear debris monitor can easily be integrated to the inline lubrication circuit in a full flow configuration with many existing turbine designs.
SUMMARY Wind turbines typically have 20 years design life. Changing the gearbox prematurely due to a bearing
failure and wear of a wind turbine gearbox needs to be avoided. When the gearbox lifetime is reduced, for example to 9 years, 2 changes will be necessary within the 20 years. Hence, the gearbox needs to run as long as possible and rewards the most recent technology as a protection to remove solid contaminants.
