is based in Norwich called Bare Feet Records. Good for them! Tere isn’t much else going on, so I will use this opportunity to gush about them a little bit. Tey are quite prolific and have regular shows at Te Birdcage in Norwich, and they have released some brilliant artists such as Wooden Arms, Milly Hirst, and Heart Of A Dog, all who happen to be playing their Summer Showcase on the 1st. Check out their website at
www.barefeetrecord
s.co.uk and applaud them for doing great things. It is awesome that such exciting stuff is happening in Norwich. BUT, in the spirit of information, let’s now get on with the overview, where I will try and tell you about more than one instance of exciting Norwich activity:

une is a little bit dominated by a lovely label what
Devastatingly, two of the best gigs of the entire month are both on the same night, which happens to be the FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH! What are the chances?! It’s a lovely and talented and local band playing at Openon the1st! Tey’re called Te Barlights and they will be playing new material from their forthcoming album, I think! (Woefully) on the same night, it’s the previously mentioned Bare Feet Records Summer Showcase with Heart of a Dog + Wooden Arms + Port Isla + Milly
Hirst. And that’s happening at Norwich Arts Centre.
On the 2ndgo and watch Matchbox Heroesplay a special EP launch show at Te Bicycle Shop.Ten we’re back with our friends at Bare Feet Recordson the 4th,when they present David Tomas Broughton + Takedaat Te Birdcage.
Te Jeffery Lewis & Peter Stampfel Bandare at Norwich Arts Centreon the 6th, then there’s another horrific clash on the 7th! Oh no! It’s the ever-brilliant Wombat Wombat at Norwich Arts Centre. Tey bring Loom + Die You Nowto that wonderful stage. Also on the7th, it’s Bare Feet Recordsagain, with Cocos Lovers at Te Birdcage.
For a couple of nights we’ll all be at Norwich Arts Centre, watching Ed Harcourt + Catherine A.D.on the 11th,and then on the 12th it’s a night called Big Hits (also at Norwich Arts Centre). Te night is
described as “the space between live art and theatre, relentlessly looking for a good time – and staring hard at censorship, propriety, and the violence that can erupt when noise is stifled.” Sounds awesome!
Milly Hirst
By the Rivers + Babilondon + Te Piratones all play at Openon Friday 14th,and then on the 15th, catch the best CURE tribute band in the whole wide world (IMO!) – it’s Liquer at Te Waterfront!
It feels like I should definitely mention that John Lee Hooker JR. is playing at Te Waterfront Studioon the 17th! Support comes from Albany Down.
On the 20th, Missing Andy, one of the region’s biggest bands, return to the Waterfront following on from their near-sell out gig back in November last year. Tis is gonna be a night where you can feel good from your feet to your head, to your soul, as the band are playing this part of their Guerrilla Invasion tour for charity, aimed at raising funds for Diabetes UK & Te Teenage Cancer Trust. Supporting the band described as ‘the best British Mod band sine Te Jam’ are local covers band Skaface UK,and the up and coming Te Tinking Men, plus DJ Steve Greensides.
In the last bit of favouritism
I will commit this month, go and watch the lastBare Feet Recordsshow of the month! It happens on the 21st at Te Birdcageand playing the night are Us Baby Bear Bones.
We’ll end in Bury St. Edmunds(why not!?) at the EP Launch of ELEANOR LOU. It’s at the Washing Machine at Te Hunter Club on the 22nd and support comes from GCP + Shannon Hope + Mirror Signal + Roisin O’Hagan.
ADIOS.
