like a Sunday school teacher in a miniskirt and Jelly Festival on an apparent sabbatical, you may be feeling a little musically neglected in our Eastern Region this year. Tankfully, we have our old faithful summer sessions to rely on from the Forestry Commission, who each year welcome the biggest names in the industry to the forest enclave. Tis year, the calibre is higher than ever, and you may just have missed out on the Paloma Faith, Te Script and Paul Weller tickets as they sold out swiftly, but there’s still Blondie, James and the coolest of cool, Elvis Costello to snap up tickets for. We can’t promise the magic ingredient that has made previous Tetford gigs magical experiences – the fairy-tinged sunlight gleaming through the trees – but regardless, music is being celebrated in the east, and you’d be a fool to miss it. For tickets and info, go to www.forestry.gov.uk/music. Emma R. Garwood

14-16 June 2013 Various Secret Locations in Suffolk DERELICHT FESTIVAL T

he Outline office received a call not so long ago from the team behind Derelicht – described as an ‘Exploration into Electronic Arts’. Being ever the simpletons we are, we asked for more duplo basic details. “Where is it”,

we asked? “Can’t tell you.” “Who’s playing?” “I’m not at liberty to say right now.” Good, good. While it makes the job of trying to publish something about it a little bit of a tough tittie, my interest had still been piqued. With the promise of putting the crème of electronic talent in derelict spaces across Suffolk, I obviously initially imagined a boombox being hammer thrown into Joan Rivers’ abandoned vajuju. However, to dispel disturbing rumours like that, I can confirm more concrete details. Te big names for the three Derelicht nights over the summer have been confirmed as Sian and Auntie Flo for the June date, James Zabiela and Tom Demac in July, then finally Âme and Will Saul to finish off in August. Now you know team Derelicht mean business. Teir manifesto also promises “innovative 3D mapping, protectionism, light and visual installations to provide a more immersive experience.” It’s worth keeping your eyes glued to www.derelicht.com for details on the intriguing venues and of course, to pick up tickets.
